Books with Guy Bass

Dinkin Dings and the Frightening Things
Skeleton Keys

In mid-2008, Stripes Publishing contacted me to ask if was interested in illustrating an absolutely hilarious manuscript that they had in their hands, written by Guy Bass. I leapt at the chance, and with ‘Dinkin Dings and the Frightening Things’, our award-winning partnership was born.

We have now created four Dinkin Dings books, the six original Stitch Head books, and six Skeleton Keys books. We are currently adapting the Stitch Head stories into graphic novel format, and a Stitch Head feature film will soon be released.

Here are various illustrations from the ‘Dinkin Dings’ books (2009-2011), and  ‘Skeleton Keys’ books (2019-2021).

The Raven Mysteries and Elf Girl and Raven Boy

Between 2008 and 2022, I was honoured to often work with the late, great, and very much-missed Marcus Sedgwick, a true giant of children’s books. Here are illustrations from the two series we worked on together ‘The Raven Mysteries’ (2008-2012), and ‘Elf Girl and Raven Boy’ (2014-2017), and also colour illustrations from the short ‘Raven Mysteries’ stories we were asked to create for the German educational publisher, Westermann (2016-2022.
